Networking Opportunities

NACAC’s 64th National Conference offers a multitude of networking and mingling opportunities to catch up with colleagues and old friends and to meet new ones. Join us at the following events, included in your conference registration fee, to make the most out of your conference experience:

The Exhibit Hall
More than 200 exhibitors offering programs, products, services, and educational opportunities will be ready to greet you beginning Thursday, September 25. Be sure to visit the exhibit hall, network with exhibitors and your colleagues, enjoy a complimentary refreshment, and visit the NACAC booth for an opportunity to win one of our great raffle prizes and a chance for a free 2009 National Conference registration. The Internet Café will also be available for attendees during the open exhibit hall hours.

First-Time Conference Attendees’ Welcome
Are you looking to make the most of your National Conference experience? Join us on Thursday, September 25, before the meeting officially kicks off, for this interactive and entertaining event. This is beyond an ordinary "orientation” – it’s your first chance to network and expand your contacts. You’ll learn about the must attend events and which educational and networking sessions match your conference and career goals. Discover how to get the most out of your NACAC National Conference experience and position yourself to succeed.

Welcome Reception
Seattle is home to cutting-edge technology, eclectic arts and entertainment, bountiful nature and wildlife, and renowned food and beverages. The Welcome Reception reflects this and more. Join your colleagues on Thursday, September 25 for your opportunity to network, meet with old friends and make new ones, all while tasting Washington State wines and microbrews and nibbling on Northwest delicacies. Afterwards, take advantage of the wonderful array of restaurants and entertainment in downtown Seattle.

Counselors’ Preview Day
Counselors’ Preview Day on Friday, September 26 is a great opportunity for local counselors from the Seattle area to network with other local counselors and meet leaders from Pacific Northwest ACAC and NACAC. A lunch for registered local counselors will be held during the day and one of the National Conference must attend events, the Counselors’ College Fair (CCF), will be held from 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. that afternoon.

NACAC’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) address member issues and concerns surrounding such topics as public school, private school and independent counseling challenges, as well as diversity within the association and higher education at the conference and throughout the year.

Ecumenical Service
Complete your conference experience on an uplifting note by joining your colleagues at the Ecumenical Service on Saturday, September 27.

Social  
Join NACAC, your friends and colleagues at this “can’t miss” celebration and the official finale of the 64th National Conference on Saturday, September 27. This year’s Social will be held at the Experience Music Project (EMP), a one-of-a-kind music museum combining interactive and interpretive exhibits including a collection of artifacts, such as guitars used by Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, and Kurt Cobain. Live music and dancing, karaoke and plenty of food and beverage will guarantee an evening of pure energy and entertainment.
